How can I improve my virtual presence on Zoom calls/ live courses?

I’m an online teacher and I want to give a lively atmosphere to my students once I started teaching. Any tips and tricks you can recommend?

Engage your audience. Ask questions, do polls, etc.

Hi @Janine !

Here are a few tips…

  • Brighten your area.

  • Look into the camera to make a connection

  • Shoot video from mid chest up sitting or standing

-Standing gives you more confidence (it’s a mental thing)

  • Act as though you are talking to a friend as you deliver the content

  • Have prompts (If I have a list I countdown with my fingers and sometimes I show the numbers I’ve drawn out) If you have a checklist, show the printed checklist.

  • Ask questions, they can respond in chat or in the community or it’s just an engagement tactic for them to think about the he content.

  • given time to complete something short with a timer on the screen.

Hope this helps!
